What is Statistics?

Why Statistics?

• Statistics forms a key basis tool in business and manufacturing as well. It is used to understand measurement systems variability, control processes (as in statistical process control or SPSS), for summarizing data, and to make data- driven decisions.
• In these roles, it is a key tool, and perhaps the only reliable tool.
• Some fields of inquiry use applied statistics so extensively that they have specialized terminology.

Descriptive Statistics & Probability Distributions.-Statistical Methods and Inference – Applied Statistics – Quality, Reliability and Operations Research – Bio- statistics – Actuarial Statistics In addition to the above contents, the Computer Oriented Statistical Concepts are introduced year after year with MS – EXCEL & TORA.

In this year Students will learn total Office Oriented Work using MS-OFFICE and how to write programs in C-LANGUAGE, these two coursers enable them to take up small tasks. C-Programming along with Data Structure Concepts learnt in this year will be helpful (is used) for writing programs in Java next year.

In the 2nd year

• Database Management System
• Operating Systems

In this year Students will learn Programs from C-language, JAVA Programming. DATABASE Concepts and implementation of databases using SQL. This Programming is useful in developing small projects.
